Twilight Souls 0.1.2.0 - Linux Asylum Demo

Extract the archive and run TwilightSoulsSetup inside the extracted folder.
Use a regular desktop session with X11 or XWayland available for conversion.
Steam is optional. The installed game runs natively and does not use Wine.

Requirements

An x86-64 Linux desktop with glibc 2.35 or newer, Python 3.10 or newer,
Vulkan graphics, PulseAudio or PipeWire, internet access and 100 GB free.
Install Wine 11 or newer before running setup. The WineHQ stable packages
are available at https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/wikis/Download.
Your distribution's older Wine package may not meet this requirement.
Use its complete Wine installation, including recommended 32-bit components.
Setup also accepts an existing Proton 11 installation.

On Ubuntu 22.04 or Debian 12, install the desktop libraries with:
sudo apt install python3 ca-certificates libstdc++6 libpng16-16 libcurl4 \
  libfreetype6 libpulse0 libvulkan1 libnss3 libatk1.0-0 libatk-bridge2.0-0 \
  libcups2 libxcomposite1 libxdamage1 libxfixes3 libxrandr2 libxkbcommon0 \
  libgbm1 libasound2 fonts-liberation xdg-utils zenity

On Fedora 44:
sudo dnf install python3 ca-certificates libstdc++ libpng libcurl freetype \
  pulseaudio-libs vulkan-loader nss atk at-spi2-atk cups-libs libXcomposite \
  libXdamage libXfixes libXrandr libxkbcommon mesa-libgbm alsa-lib \
  liberation-fonts xdg-utils zenity

These commands install the libraries used by the game and conversion helpers.
Wine and your GPU's Vulkan driver are separate prerequisites. Keep your
distribution updated so libstdc++ provides GLIBCXX_3.4.30 or newer.

The game uses your distribution's graphics and audio drivers. Keep them
up to date. See qualification.json for the environments actually tested.
This package targets glibc Linux. Alpine/musl, ARM and headless servers
are not supported targets.

Installation

Select your GameCube Twilight Princess ISO/GCM and your installed copy of
Dark Souls Remastered. Both games are required. GameCube images from other
regions or revisions are admitted, but only USA revision 0 is qualified.
Setup reads your games without modifying them. The first conversion can
take several hours. Keep the Build Folder to resume or repair later.

Setup downloads pinned conversion dependencies into its own Build Folder.
It installs Wine Mono in its private Wine prefix for model conversion.
No root password is required by setup. Distribution prerequisites may
require your system's package manager. The download contains no game image
or reconstructed playable game assets.

Double-click Play Twilight Souls.desktop in the installation folder to play.
Allow launching if your desktop asks. The launcher/launch.py file is an
internal support file and should not be opened directly. KDialog or Zenity
shows launch errors on the desktop. Terminal launches also print errors.
Saves and preferences
live in the installation's separate profile folder. Repair preserves them.
You can optionally add Play Twilight Souls as a non-Steam game. Leave
Steam's Force Compatibility Tool option off for the native launcher.

For unattended setup:
./TwilightSoulsSetup --unattended --disc /path/game.iso --dsr /path/DSR \
  --destination /path/TwilightSouls --cache /path/TwilightSoulsBuild

To select a particular Wine installation, add --wine /path/to/wine.
Continue using that installation when resuming the same Build Folder.
Use the same paths to resume or repair. Setup logs are in the Build Folder
and installation logs are in the installation's logs folder.
